Looks like there’s some ammonia here yes? (Initial cycle)

What stage of your cycle are you in?

So four days after dosing the One and Only and the Ammonium Chloride? If so, I would expect to see more for ammonia at this point. Did you add enough of the ammonium chloride to get the ammonia to ~2.0 ppm initially?

Did you use any real, wet live rock to start this tank?

I dosed on Monday - followed the instructions on the bottle, so I should put more in?

Dry rock
Yes, I would add more of the ammonium chloride until the concentration of ammonia is about 1.5-2.0 ppm. You need to give the bacteria something to consume to grow into a population that can handle the waste of livestock down the road.

Thank you

Thank you
No problem! Get your ammonia up higher, and then give it some time. Expect a cycle like this to take +/- 3 weeks or so. Watch for when your ammonia drops to zero; you can safely ignore nitrites, they are non toxic 🙂

Good luck and post back with any further questions!
