Hi all

Adopted this anemone from a neglected tank, where it had been for at least two years, apparently doing fine

It’s moving around a lot and stinging everything but not killing anyone

Can I get an id and some feeding, flow and lighting tips please?

I’m used to BTAs being bombproof pests, but I think whatever this one is (H magnifica?) it’s unhappy

When feeding I have to stand guard to stop the clowns pulling the food out

Full tank shot to give overall idea of its environment:

Thanks!

Generally when an anemone moves around a lot, its due to too much flow and at times light.

Mags like a lot of light and flow imo it's on the glass coz maybe the light isnt enough they tend to climb to the highest point and can u give more info abt the tank parameters? And more pics

Do you have any other photos? It does look like a magnifica but should still be a BTA.

If it is a magnifica, a flat rock that's away from other rocks is the best way to keep it from moving around. If any of the tentacles can "feel" the sides of the talk, it'll try to walk up. Most magnifica owners have them on islands to prevent them from wandering.

It is a H. magnifica. I agree with @D-Nak
Get him on top of a flat rock higher up under very bright light and he will do well for you
Here is mine on a 6X6 inch tile, right under my Radion 4 Pro
