So i thought fish would leave a fox face alone due to its spines/poison...

All 3 of my Large Angels try to nip and chase the fox face when its in their way... just a bunch of grunting and chasing nothing crazy
Queen
Emperor
Majestic

Can you give more information? Size of each fish - size of tank - even a good picture of the whole tank. Was the fox face 'new'. All fish have defense mechanisms - angels included.

Was the Foxface last to go in? How recently?
I thought the same about fish not messing with a fox face, but my tomini tang harassed it for a few days, but has since settled down. Maybe the angels will do the same.

Ive posted some videos of the tank in general, but ill try to get some when i can...

8 foot tank - 240 gal
Queen 8"
Emp 7"+
Majestic 4"
Fox face 6-7"

I mean the Emp chases a few tank mates when he feels, just wondering about the fox face specifically...

Fox face was not last. Queen was.

from above order was
Majestic
Emp was juvi then - now an adult
Queen.

All normal - you knew about this going in, right? :)

I have a Blue, Blueface, Emperor, French, Passer, and Swallowtail + 2 FF and 7+ tangs in a 450gal. The Blue is the most aggressive and he chases everybody, including the Blueface, which is bigger. Except the Emperor, Passer, and Swallowtail, the other 3 angels are 6-7".

I mean i knew they chase, but i thought they would avoid the fox face...

I think i want to consider a Clown trigger.... tons of dead snail shells on the floor, i never flip them.
Wondering how a small one would do with the angels and tangs in here.

I have all 3 of those Angels (plus a few more) in my 8 foot 240 FOWLR. They have a hierarchy with the Majestic at the bottom (French at the top). They’ll chase each other away periodically but it’s typically pretty tame.

Some nipping is to be expected but if the Foxface is being corned or not allowed out to swim and eat that’s a problem. You could always try catching the aggressor (if it’s only one fish) and putting them in a large acclimation box for a week. That worked for me with the Queen (who was beating on the Majestic).

all fish will establish territory. No one can predict what would happen with a clown trigger - however - the more fish in a tank - the less likely an issue

Nice, yeah its nothing crazy, Normal chasing. I just thought they would avoid the fox...

Queen Angel
Emp Angel
Majestic Angel
Coral Beauty
Flame Angel

2x Engineer Gobies about 9 "
Fox Face

Scopas Tang
Powder Blue
Regal Blue Hippo

1 x Cleaner Wrasse

Considering a Naso and/or the Clown trigger

Here is my tank with angels + tangs. They all live in harmony for the most part. I think that feeding them multiple times a day might curb their aggression. Also, give them plenty of hiding spots. I built 3 separate islands with various arches to segregate them.

I love clown triggers when I had my FOWRL but for a reef, they will likely destroy all softies and LPS.

Good luck!
