Hey guys, so the usual story is you add fish then generally the new fish hides and the existing fish continue going on with life.

But strangely enough, my dispar anthias which have been in my tank for a year or so, one of them has now been hiding for 3 days after adding a bicolour blenny, yellow coris wrasse, mandarin goby. I can see him under the rock and he seems fine, no heavy breathing, not fins damaged, no diseases (I buy quarantined fish and corals). The new fish arnt bullying either, mandarin, wrasse and blenny pecks at rocks all day

I tried to lure him out with food today with a turkey baster, but not even a flinch, all the other fish are fine.

Any tips ? Is it normal? When should I worry?

Some fish can be like that, I wouldn’t be too worried unless it shows visible damage, and/or doesn’t come out in a week. (Assuming it is getting food somehow)

Maybe put a mirror on the side of the tank to diffuse aggression from new additions.

You have to feel for it though; would you not be scared a bit if you suddenly had four roommates appear?

Get him/her a friend. I had one alone for a year and it mostly hid. As soon as I added another dispar, it came out to make friends right away, and they've been swimming around the tank all day every since.

I have 2 dispar and 2 chromis that swim together constantly
1 of the dispar is hiding, the other 3 are still swimming around as normal
