I have a 50 gallon tank 48" long 18" wide. I was wondering if there is a school of 4 anthias I could keep in there. Also some advice for keeping them. If there are any other interesting schooling fish that are compatible with my size reef tank I am up for suggestions.

My personal favorite species is the Bartlett's - a bit pricey, but hardy and usually handled better prior to purchase.

We are seeing a lot of Uronema in orange squampinnis anthias.

Is that the lyretail? Not sure the scientific names lol.. I got 4 of them last week and the 3 smaller females died within 24 hours.. ugh.. the large male about 3” long survived.. I just picked up 3 disbar and the male lyretail took to them haha! Weird..

+1 to Bartletts, I don’t personally own anthias but from an LFS worker perspective these guys have by far been the easiest to keep in groups and get through the settling period.

I have 2 dispars and 1 lyrtail for about 2 months now. Nice looking fish, very active, always out in the open, but they eat a lot, always begging for more food.

I have a pair of lyretails, a pair of pink square, and a female bimaculatus. I’ve had them all over a year and a half and do great. They all eat pellet food, so having an auto feeder makes it easy.
