Anyone happen to have an ID on these yellow guys I picked up yesterday? Won a $50 gift card to a LFS through my local reef club and these are one of the coral I bought.

Could be Hawaiian ding dands but they look more green rather than the pic above. Jurassic Park Zoas have 8 dots in the middle of them, so couldn't be it. I'm leaning more towards some kind of Hawaiian Ding Dang morph

Saw the OP cross post these on fb. It’s not a named strain but it is exceptionally nice.

One thing you gotta love about zoas is that you can find wild gems at your lfs.

@Hunna’s Stunnas best of luck with them! You struck pay dirt IMO.
Well that’s neat to hear! I’ll have to see what they end up as once fully settled in my tank.
There’s already a baby forming, which is promising after hearing this news.

Don’t over think it lol, I’m sure they’ll be fine.

I’ll share with you a wild I got this fall.

Is it anything crazy? No, but it’s neat in its own right. This is why zoanthids are my favorite coral.

They have been my favorite since I got into the hobby. Lost so many due to a nasty divorce where I couldn’t properly take care of my tanks for a while, then some more during a random tank crash earlier this year. They are finally all doing really well, so long as they don’t go into my 15g with sexy shrimp. Stupid buttheads just kill every zoa I’ve tried putting in that tank.

Hard to tell, they do remind me of grimm reapers. They do look Hawaiian & can potential change in coloration under the right conditions.

Mine are green, def not Scarface unfortunately. I saw a lot like these coming in on pucks after indo reopened along with yellow/gold zoas and Stratocaster. 5 years on I’m seeing fewer and fewer that adapted to aquarium life.

Slightly hijacking the thread to spread the gospel of wild zoas. Here’s a few I’ve had now awhile. Scarface like, but not quite. It’s always worth spending $20/$30/$40 on something to see what it might become.

A fairly large TikTok seller called the yellow ones Scarface zoas. Of all the suggested named ones, those are the closest. Still not 100% that’s what these are though.

While I have some of you knowledgeable people here, I was given these by a friend on Wednesday. He claimed they were purple monsters. While these are gorgeous zoas, I’m not quite certain they are purple monsters. The colors match acid reflux, but the center of those is more splotchy and not a nice circle like in these. Any ideas?

I’m gonna disagree with the ticktock seller, while scarfaces are a bucket strain (composed of many strains with similar features) scarfaces are always bronze/copper to yellow/gold. Yours appear green.

However, all the names are made up anyways in an attempt to readily define the characteristics of any given zoa. Folks can put as much stock in a name as they want.

Your friend hooked you up with some incredibly well conditioned acid reflux. The center can, and does, present differently on these. I’d say these are 10/10.

The ones I have are definitely a light yellow and black, not green.

Good to know about the acid refluxes. All the ones I had seen in person and online had the splotched centers, not a ring. I was happy with it regardless of what it was, glad to have a name for them though. Thanks!
