Anybody using a Blackberry Storm?

My wife got me one, and it is a very cool phone, but it freezes a lot and glitches. Its kinda slow and unresponsive some times as well.

Any ideas?

the guy at my local verizon told me to stay away from them for that very reason my advice would be to take it back (most stores have the 30 day exchange policy) and wait until they work the bugs out

I have 2 iPhones and sometimes they glitch, freeze, and become unresponsive. The solution is turning it off and turning it back on at least once a week. They said it clears some of the saved memory from applications. That seems to work.

They all have the same problems. Check and make sure you only have 1 window opened at a time that should help

the phone portion of both are nice. the mp3 portion of the iphone rocks. The internet portion of both sux. The freeze like crazy. The iphone is famous for while browsing it will shoot you right to the phone home page. internet portion of these phones need lots of work

I have the storm, I got it shipped to me a few days after it came out. Highly recommend installing the software and getting the latest updates directly uploaded via USB/charger from PC. Made the phone much faster!

Likes:
Battery life - once conditioned a few days, the thing is a beast. Heavy usage all day barely uses half the battery.
Screen - Even at 10% the screen is insanely bright and colorful.
Web Browsing - Not perfect yet by any means, but very usable!
Phone/Sound - Awesome, good signal strength everywhere I go. Great speaker phone.
Email - Fast with email push

Dis-likes:
Camera - almost so slow to the point of being useless
Multimedia - No itunes - great in my book! But songs and video are finicky about format and not always easy to upload.
Quirky bugs- Had my email and text alerts stop working for no reason, then my ringtones went. Had to reboot by taking out the battery. Has frozen once and had to do the same. Once started playing a song for no reason, phone was locked, no calls, emails or texts came in??

Great to know! I have not done the install of the software update yet so hopefully that will help. To me the email is awesome as well, and yes the camera is slow!

They automatically download and install the big updates for the major bugs.

Verizon did rush the storm, but they should be worked out in time.

Back up your files before doing an update; I've lost data while upgrading. Remember to write down your blackberry contact's PINs!

The Storm will be great in time- it took time for the Iphone to work out all of the bugs and what not as well. In March the App store (supposedly a lot like Iphone) will be out so that will help. Make sure you have .75 downloaded, there are .85 downloads on the net but it has been real finicky. PM me if you want some links to stuff for it, dunno if I can post it on the boards.
