I’d say the mushroom is definitely bigger than it not including the other 3 rocks attached to it haha! Does anyone know why they like hats or do they just like hats lolVery common for urchins to do this, they pick up all kinds of thinks. Basically anything that isnt nailed down and isnt bigger than they are.
I like that option better hahaSome believe camo is the reason, now they think protection from UV. I think they just like to redecorate and look fancy.
Definitely is interesting! I’ve only had shrimps, snails, hermits, and a conch (the usual) but decided to add the urchin and a brittle star to my tank to add some diversity and I love having them in my tank now!!My vote is they arent called tuxedo urchins for nothing!!!! They gotta stay looking good.
That’s the funny thing, it was attached to rock lol he has the rock with him!I would remove it and glue it down on a frag or a rock, or it will likely happen again.
That mushroom has been firmly attached for about a month before I got the urchin lol! I wonder if it unattached willingly to go with the urchin? Haha! You can carefully remove it from the urchin. I have to do this sometimes when I see a poor living snail attached or prize coral. He may go back and find it though. Just put in a dish for a bit until it fully attaches somewhere.
Hey if my mushroom down for the ride I’m okay with seeing some moving coral lolTuxedo Urchins always giving involuntary bus rides for inverts and unglued coral
I would remove it and glue it down on a frag or a rock, or it will likely happen again.
My urchin with a dead emerald crab on its top and GSP on a different day, lol
Urchins carry "hats" maybe to protect from UV? Scientists are not fully sure yet. You can by 3D printed hats for your urchins to use.
The GSP is hilarious...looks like a wig!
