Beautiful!! Anytime we cut down black walnut at work I try to save some. Tough to get bigger pieces being in a rush but I get a decent amount.Over 30 years ago when a church removed a black walnut tree my father had some of it rough milled to stock. Part of it got used by a pro to make a beautiful grandfather clock. But the leftovers just sat in a stack in the shop. I used some:
Building a conference room table using two solid core door and wrapped with maple. I pretty cool looking. I finished the feet and legs today and shooting finish tomorrow. I post it when I am doneJeff, that bedroom set is absolutely beautiful. I've never heard of Sapele before, but will definitely check my hardwood guy next time I'm in. Most of my work has been in oak.
And Kevin @kschweer , what you're doing is one of the reasons my woodworking/furniture building has been reduced to a minimum......house projects!!!
And @Dual40IM , your bar project reminded my of my most recent build.....a pallet bar....this past summer. What was great about this build was that all the wood was free (across the street neighbor received a swing set/play set, and I got the eight foot pallet), and my wife wanted it as rustic as possible, so no carefully picking boards, sanding or fancy finishing.

Really nice, I like how you mixed the grain. teak and mahogany?I eat saw dust for a living doing custom woodwork and fine carpentry and everybody thinks my house must be amazing but the last thing I want to do when I’m not in the shop or out on a job is work on my home. And having two little kids it’s hard to make dust until one in the morning like I use to, which is why I set up my fish tank. Thinking as a family we can all enjoy something together but now I find myself playing in saltwater until one in the morning once everyone is asleep. As for woodworking if it’s made of wood I can build it or sure try and if it wasn’t for having a tree house as a kid and my high school shop teacher I don’t think I’d be where I am today. Here’s a sample of one of the many things I build with wood.
Nice bread board ends. I did the same with my desk.Since I have some pictures of it, here is my latest project. It's a farmhouse dining table with breadboard ends. Nothing fancy design or wood wise. I'm using this as a prototype. I decided to use dowel joinery so not a screw in the thing, other than the table top fasteners. Now comes the fun part...sanding and staining.

Wow very nice David and definitely similar. I originally wanted to do paneling like that I just thought it was a bit beyond my skill set to make it look good. I love the look.@kschweer, your hallway picture reminded me of my foyer redo several years ago. Before and after pictures, even though the front door wasn't painted yet. Here's the best part...the foyer used to have a coat closet. We don't have coats where I live because we don't need them. So it was closed off and became what you see in the last picture....lol.
