I wait until everyone is eating, or a few days, whichever is longer.
Would you wait a few days if you had them eating well for a few months in a display tank before? because I can still hold off on the copper and they are still a bit frightened with they’re territories un established

I’m also concerned with using sponges for bacteria at the same time Using copper. Does copper absorb in sponges? I’m using a big black corse sponge and a small bicolored blue and white sponge just for harboring benificial bacteria

As long as they’re eating (of established in DT prior) proceed!

Copper is not absorbed by sponges, at least not marginally.

You could try the fresh water dip in a black container to see if any white spots fall off (black container shows white flukes best) this won’t cure it but it will diagnose it so if there’s no flukes you just keep going with the copper. Fresh water dip is stressful to the fish so keep in mind that for weaker fish during the middle of copper treatment a FW dip could be fatal. But your circumstances are different. copper levels are super low still and clown fish are really tough

My purple fire fish won’t eat or swim much I think she may have gotten hurt or something every other fish has adjusted in their own way but this one I fear is not going to put up with the stress
