I got some copepods and amphipods today and put them in a tank to breed them. I just came up to look at tank and there are quite a few of these… pretty small but look different than anything I’ve seen so far

Anyone have any clue what it is?

Thanks!!!

some type of polychaete worm. Baby brissle worm? fire worm? or another of the thousands of possibilities. Hard to tell. Personally I'd remove it, burn it with fire and cross all my fingers an toes that was the only one... but this is very unlikely.

If it's a bristle worm, you may need Holy Water as well........

I've worked to keep them out of my tank... and so far suceeded but I'd be less upset about bristle worms than fireworms or bobbits. You'd need an excorism for those, not just holly water 😝

Some people actually want bristle worms in their tank... hard pass for me. I do have some sort of polychaete in my tank but it stays in the sand and never gets any longer than the ones in the video and about a quarter of the diameter without the hairs... tiny.

Forgot about bobbits! Yeah, those DO need an exorcism! I'd hate to get hit by one of those!
