for apex do any of the modules have to plug into conventional power or do they all use aquabus for power and data? trying to figure out how many conventional power outlets i will need and the neptune docs dont really spell it out (or i am not understanding).

as an additional quest i assume if i have multiple kessil lights they need to be hooked to the eb832 and the same goes for the mp40's correct. (assuming i want to control or utilize power consumption)

and if i can use aquabus for power and data what is the 1link?

again, thanks for entertaining this question as it might be a bit stupid but all my apex should arrive today and trying to plan

You'll need as many outlets as eb8's that you're planning to run. The eb8's power the rest through aquabusses. The only other plug you would need is if you're running the 12v adapter for the brain. Or atleast that's how it's been on all the modules I've purchased.

Aquabus handles data and some juice to only power the module - anything more than that requires separate power.
1Link provides both the data and power for certain devices such as DOS, WAVs and the Cor-15 pump

For your MP40s and Kessil's - it all depends on how you want to control them. For just on/off, you can plug them into your EB832 or utilize the different modules (VDM and WXM) to actually control them.

The list of Neptune products that require extra power:

  • DOS - external or 1Link
  • ATK - external or 1Link
  • Cor-15 - 1Link only
  • Cor-20 - external
  • WAVs - external or 1Link
I think that's it.

thank you both for the information, i will have to do some serious cable management planning. i thought the pipe planning was detailed...
not sure what i will do about hiding the cables but i will figure something and now that alot of the modules do not need separate power and the mp40's dont need to run back to EB832 that is good.

Sorry to jack this thread. Have a question it’s kinda dumb and probably know the answer. If I’m plugging WAVs into an FMM does it the FMM need a power supply?

So the other way is to plug it into the EB32?

yes it would need power either by the FMM or the eb832 or any wall outlet but if you go into the eb832 you can use power management if that is important to you

I just bought 2 WAVs no link one module! I have 2 EB32, can I just plug one into each EB32 (1 link ports) and that’s it? Confused!

It would be easier for me to connect them to FMM. But realize those would need power, went threw that when I plugged the ATO pump into my other FMM, needed power and not off the EB32. So if I go to the FMM would need 2 power supply’s and plug it into a regular outlet not the EB32! I know I have that correct, was trying to avoid the power supply’s if I can go str-8 into the EB32.

multiple ways to do it but you can power the 1link or fmm and then just hook the wav to that device via attached power adapter and then the fmm or 1link can attach to system via aquabus and for power you can connect adapter to eb or to wall outlet

yes, that will power them, but i think you need 1link to support them, i know neptune says you need a 1link module so i have not tried that but i think to manipulate them you need the module
