What's the best way to get information on how to setup dosers, lights and heater to come on and shut off at certain times and temps? I started reading the manual online and it's way over my head.

Yes, the manual is pretty comprehensive. I went out and did a couple of searches and found videos of how to setup a couple of different features. BRS has a bunch of video on the Apex which a kind of fast, but after a couple of trials and errors I got things pretty well set up. Also use the Apex forums, you can ask question and get answers there.
