I'm having an issue with my apex. Backstory: got it hooked up and working about 4 weeks ago. It was working perfectly and communicating through my WiFi with zero issues. Then some water got splashed on the base unit. I sent it in to Neptune for repair. They repaired it and I got it back yesterday. I reinstalled it last night. Yes before anyone asks, I mounted the base unit in a different spot that has zero chance of water damage again.
I followed the exact procedure I did the first time to get it hooked up to my WiFi. It will not connect to my WiFi this time around. I cannot get it on fusion. I cannot use an Ethernet cable because of logistical reasons. Besides, it worked wirelessly before so what's the difference this time. I posted also on the Neptune community board. No response. Anyone here using an apex have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Can you get into it locally? You need to do that because they reset everything probably
If you can get into it locally then you can use Fusion to talk to it
What version is it?

It was just purchased a little over a month ago so the new version I guess?
If you mean by local the step where you type into the browser apex.local then I've tried that. Every time I would type it into the browser it would give me "cannot be reached you're offline".
I tried using that app they recommend us android users install, pea finder or something like that. It works in that it finds my apex but when I select it to link to it...same thing. It times out during a connection attempt over and over.

I think plug in an ethermet cable and then you should be able reset it
I would love to try but like I said in my original post I can't. The router is over 40 feet away. If by resetting the base unit you mean the tiny little hole that you stick a pin into to reset it, then I've already done that a few times to avail.

Press and hold the reset button for 5-10 seconds. It will restart and come back up with the LED panel lit blue, meaning it is in Wi-Fi setup mode. Then go through the initial Wi-Fi connection process.

I want to thank everyone for trying to help. That's a lot more than I can say for the Neptune community board. Shees. Go figure.

Hmm. Now this I haven't tried. By that I mean I haven't held down that reset button for that long. I've pressed the reset button numerous times but the led light has always remained orange on my unit. I will give this try!

The Neptune board just doesn't get much traffic, and this board is really good with notifications to keep people involved.

I have had nothing but problems getting connected hard wired or wifi since I got my apex there method for tech support sucks email back and forth sometimes hours or days no response the Neptune community is not very helpful either, Oh by the way if you hold down the reset for a longer time everything goes back to factory reset so you loose all your programming . They need to improve the way this hooks up to networks I changed out my router had my internet provider in and new modem because apex kept loosing connection up to fusion . Everything else in my house hooked back up fine My solar panels ,tv,nvidia shield , laptops ,phones,..... no problem APEX NOPE , as of today still not connected I will be going to reefapaloosa in a few weeks I'm going to look for new options Any suggestions ? . To make matters worse I got there ato and hooked it up through the apex ports not stand alone and it lost its programing so now I have to top off manually till this is resolved .

I completely agree with you on their customer service. When something is wrong and the customer needs help, all the coustomer should have to do is call a number and talk to a technician who helps them walk through solutions. They are woefully lacking in this department and it will loose them coustomers.

Wow mine is hard wired too I have had problems getting mine to update some times take 5 or 6 time but other than that mine is ok. I also changed my router 3 months ago it was not a problem but you need to let the router give it an IP then reserve the IP in the router settings. I agree woth all of you the email back and forth with Neptune is a pain. I try not to bother

For how much they proclaim themselves to be the industry leader in aquarium controller game, you would think they would have a giant tech customer service center running 24/7 incase of emergencies. Main reason why I didn't go with Apex and spent my money on profilux 4 and haven't had zero problem.
