Apex wifi trouble

I am currently running apex classic using a network Ethernet adapter from my router to the apex. (See picture for what I am using). Trouble is every time my power goes out for some reason my apex stays off line and cannot access it when I am away. Takes a good 10 min or so of restarting the apex or router or unplugging and plugging back in the adapters. Is there anyway or has anyone had this issue or know how to resolve it??

I have the same issue, and for some reason my power has been having very short outages periodically. I'd be interested to hear if you make any progress.

From what I understand there is a sequence that needs to occur for the APEX to come back online. I believe your router needs to be powered back up before the APEX. I believe people had been putting their routers on a ups.

Sounds reasonable. And assuming it's a quick power cycle, I wouldn't need a particularly large ups?

Yeah, battery backup systems designed for computers and related equipment. They are not for long time use, but to help prevent the on/off cycles of power outages.

Basically, it assigns a "phone number" to the Apex so that it doesn't change. This helps when one wishes to manually connect to their Apex using the old Apex app. Fusion has eliminated the need to do this.

I'm about to setup an APEX and would appreciate some describing how they are hooked up. I've read the manual but still confused. Do you have to use port forwarding for remote access?

You can set it to static ip, so it will not change. Only way to prevent connection loss is to run a hard cat5/6 line.

On my Asus router, I go to Advanced Settings > LAN > DHCP Server > Enable Manual Assignment. Choose Yes. I then choose the connected device, then add it to the list. Your router will likely vary, but be similar.
