Apr 2026 POTM Fish Head Shot.

Can I ask…
What is a head shot?
because a lot of these aren’t what I would consider a head shot, but rather a full-body shot.

Man the pictures in here are just fricken epic!

Our Pedant in Chief has spoken!

I had to submit a headshot to a potential employer once and accidentally sent them a full-body shot instead…
Some people don’t appreciate art I guess

Agreed. Two different things.

Body shot

Head shot

Here's a head shot. I think. Can't really tell with this guy.

NOT AN OFFICIAL SUBMISSION

I’m not saying I’m right but for me it has to be either cropped to the head or like this one where the head is straight on.

Just my opinion though

NOT AN OFFICIAL SUBMISSION

[GoAskAlice]

IMO I think it’s a shot that focuses primarily on the face

[GoAskAlice]

It doesn’t mean the photo has to be cropped to only show the face but rather when the photo is viewed that is what the eye is drawn to.

I wonder what a full-face portrait of this fish looks like? :))

The first thing I notice in this gif is the strange white wig. Even the funny expression is secondary. Just one thing that amazes me about good photos…what do you see…what is your first impression?

[steveschuerger]

If I’d know I could’ve used older photos from previous fish I could’ve joined the blenny brigade —
Not off sub

Legit.

Just my opinion though

Legit again.
