Note: This won't be the only rock I will have in thereI just soaked this rock in vinegar for 2 days to get some algae stains off. I had this rock in a freshwater tank and the tank got flooded with algae and the rock was stained. I cleaned it and I just want to know if I should put this in my new 15 gallon. I am also thinking to drill a few holes for a goby cave

This is what it looked like beforeLooking nice, post some before and after photos. The difference is wild![]()

Dang broThis is what it looked like before![]()
But should I drill some holes for a goby?Dang bro
Sure if you want, itll look like a shipworm btw make the holes a bit wideBut should I drill some holes for a goby?
Yeah could I get a photo for reference of what you think would be good?Sure if you want, itll look like a shipworm btw make the holes a bit wide
Erm. I guess that's a normal ish size for a DWG. I'm not sure if you can get holes big enough without destroying the peice.Yeah could I get a photo for reference of what you think would be good?
Yeah I'm putting more dw my other rock is coming soon, however do y'all think I even need to make holes like look at this. The way the rock naturally sits it makes a cave (I put my thumb in for size estimate)Only one rock for a 15 gallon? Should have at least 10 lbs or so, that’s the way to provide hiding spot for a fish. Not to mention that rock is the bio filter of the tank so it’s very important. It also provide space for micro organisms to breed and space to mount coral. In the old days we used to add 2 lbs per gallon can you imagine? Now we know you don’t need that much but just one rock is just not enough.
Depends, look on live aquaria and look through gobies.Yeah I'm putting more dw my other rock is coming soon, however do y'all think I even need to make holes like look at this. The way the rock naturally sits it makes a cave (I put my thumb in for size estimate)
Give me a sec imma find smthDepends, look on live aquaria and look through gobies
IMO blennies are prone to backing into holes like that.Yeah I'm putting more dw my other rock is coming soon, however do y'all think I even need to make holes like look at this. The way the rock naturally sits it makes a cave (I put my thumb in for size estimate)
He's not wrong, it'll look like something else is inhabiting it.IMHO - The goby will find its own spot without intervention. If you make it a specific cave, it may never go in it...
Yeah the whole gist of this is should I put the rock in or no and if the goby doesn't like it who cares lolHe's not wrong, it'll look like something else is inhabiting it.
I just saw it as a cool idea to have a little cave for a possible goby to live it in or anything idc.Yeah the whole gist of this is should I put the rock in or no and if the goby doesn't like it who cares lol
