Are a lot of copepods good?

Copepods are good good good!!! The more the better. If you want to try to lessen the population, throw in a mandarin goby and they’ll eat em all day.

so here’s a picture of the larger copepod I spotted but as you can see in the picture there’s little white specs around it that are moving too
Larger one looks like an amphipod or an isopod

Yes, beneficial and desirable imo, and necessary to keep a mandarin full and happy.

I read that mandarin gobys are difficult to keep. Especially for somewhat new tanks?
I wouldn’t throw a mandarin in just yet.

without being able to cultivate your own pods you’re risking starving it if your tank population doesn’t maintain itself.

cultivating pods is super easy though, literally just throw clean saltwater water in a bucket, add an air stone, pods, and add some phyto every couple days.
