Call me crazy, but I was thinking Legos would be a cool way to manage things in the sump, e.g. building a stand if the skimmer is sitting too low, building probe holders etc. Does anyone know if this is safe? It would certainly be cool if it was.

Haha what a good idea. Acually going to do some research on that now lol

LEGO® is made from ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), a thermoplastic polymer comprised of three monomers. The first monomer, acrylonitrile, gives the bricks strength

Are they reef safe or only freshwater

10 years later who knows lol...2016 😂
What does it matter how long it's been? If you have a question. And you never see a direct answer. In the thread and you read the entire thread about what's your specifically asking for I know I read post about people using them in sumps and stuff like that. But who's to say that they're not freshwater systems, I want to know about a marine system

Pretty much every member on this website owns a saltwater tank or is interested in it. And the answer is yes, they are reef safe, the only problems that might be occurred is the silicates in the plastic which could cause a dino outbreak or some other nuisance algae.

One of the people on here (can't remember his username) has a ton of Legos around his tank, maybe he will chime in!
