My office just had 1/8th of it's space renovated for our high net worth clients (I'm in Banking). This renovation included the loan of some original art from the company's collection to be hung on our walls. I'm told the value is in the millions. The below 9'x5' (that's 108"x60") original oil on canvas is a joke, IMO.

Your thoughts?

Artist = someone who gets paid for being eccentric and misunderstood

And I must agree, I would not consider that art, graphic design maybe, but not art.

:hammer::bad_smelly:

But I'm not a big fan of art so take it FWIW. ;)

They might want to get a new artist! lol
Yeah that is lame........

Not to mention it doesn't even fit the aspect ratio of the wall it is on. They need an interior decorator too it looks like.

I wouldn't even buy that at a thrift store. And I love abstract art. To each his own though.

Needless to say the 'Art' has been removed! The complaints to seconds to hit home office in NY. We had the pleasure of looking at this for ~4 weeks before our corporate curator could have it replaced..... Not like we could remove it and stick it in the computer room.

I did one that said "BASURA" that looked the same (Photoshop) but my boss did not like me pinning it to the wall next to this 'master piece'

art is no different then coral. It is only worth what people are willing to pay for it. much of what is considered Rare and expensive is not even as nice as the common everyday stuff. just like the coral world you have a small select group that is willing to pay big bucks for something just so that can say they have it. Many times they dont even really like it. they just want to be able to say they own something "special"

Paintings generally should be kept out of the sunlight, but that one might actually improve.
