Today I must have spent two hours and took out over 45 asterinas from my tank I had only seen a few until I dropped a harlequin shrimp in my tank and they started coming out of the woodwork . Jumping on every coral in my tank , leathers, Zoa, alveo , even whips .. so I started to pull out manually any I saw and lost count at 45 it’s as though they sense the harlequin and decided to wage war . Meanwhile the harlequin is doing no work and hanging out on a rock not moving much or hunting but I just got him today .

Update:

A star was just next to him and nothing he doesn’t move much stays in same area but looks fine not stressed .. so not sure why he is not active or hunting .

What else can I do ?

Keep it up, tomorrow morning before the lights come on, pick out another 45, and the morning after, and then again. In a week you will notice there are no more to pick out, keep pulling out any stragglers and in less than a month you they will be mostly eradicated. Thats how I do it and it works, good luck

I find that they tend to disappear over time. Used to have hundreds and now rarely see a single.
