After a calculated risk to save a fish with epsom salt I lost all of my corals. And no new ones would grow. A neighboring hobbyist told me that Phytoplankton would rebalance a tank. I had also been running my lights at 100% (165 watt fixtures x3 on a 180 gallon) and hair algae was very bad. After lowering my lights to 40% and using Phytoplankton daily the hair algae disappeared. It literally withered away and disappeared. So Phytoplankton truly is astonishing in what it can visibly accomplish but more so for what you cannot see it doing. Which is feeding corals and all of the small invertebrates that male your tank work. It is the reason my tank is looking healthy again. Also it has slowed to a crawl green and brown algae that grow on the glass.
Also the epsom salt did not save the fish from being constipated. I would not recommend using this method ever if you are reading this and need a cure for a fish that becomes blocked no matter what thread you may read on this site.
