Does anyone have any pictures or videos of attaching optics to the LEDs?

Its a rather simple process with a couple of gotchas....

What type of Optics and or Holders?

Crazy Glue emits fumes that may damage the LED Optics...

Lock tite no mess adhesive works well if your using cheaper Chinese Optics close to the LED.

No Fumes to craze the LED Optic...

If your using the Carclo Holder for Carclo Optics you can use silicon or plumbers goop...

I'm using the optics that look like the XP-E ones on Rapid. I know it is simple just want to see a picture because I'm more of a visual guy.

The optic should straddle the LED.

Make sure its the correct one and then use a toothpick to put the adhesive on the part that touches the STAR

I just use hot glue to hold the optic on. Not the best picture but you'll get the idea....

I place the optic on the star flush, tilt the optic to one side a mm or two, just enough so hot glue will get under the optic but not into the optic then immediately push the optic back flush with the star. You have to be careful not to tilt the optic too far or the glue gets into the cavity where the led is supposed to go. You don't want that. I found that if I just tried to put the glue on the outside of the optic it didn't hold as well as when I did the tilt method.
