Hey guys, it’s been some years since I had tanks and they were mostly fresh

The only marine tank I’ve ever had was this 50ish gallon acrylic with a Peacock Mantis, some clowns, damsels, some kinda wrasse and a tree like soft coral that almost covered the whole tank lol

I really loved it especially the mantis but now I’m just in the process of getting started again

still got a lot of stuff to do I just siliconed baffles into the 69 breeder and I’d like to get the plumbing done tomorrow I’ll probably make a thread to see if I got it right

definitely a saltwater newb so I appreciate any advice given and can’t wait to see some of your setups

thanks
Trevor

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!

That's a super nice setup so far! What kind of inhabitants are you planning on getting?

Thanks I actually picked up the stand for $10 it just needed some wire wheel action and a paint job ….. the cover is just some cheap pine boards I stained lol

not exactly sure I’m thinking of getting a moray eel that can grow out fully in the 125 like a yellow head maybe, I definitely want a tang or 2 but nothings set in stone ….. and I’m thinking of just trying to have a diverse selection of soft corals

What gallon tank is this? I'd put something under the legs of the stand before filling it. Might save your floor. Also make sure to measure good before adding a skimmer you've only got so much room to work with.

Both good points thanks, it’s a 125 and there is 2’ from the floor of the sump to the bottom of the display so I’m sure I’ll have to choose wisely

Probably why I’ve only seen these stands in stores with no sumps and not in peolpes homes ….. I’m sure steel stands aren’t to popular with salt tanks I actually grabbed an anode from work I may hook to it lol
