Getting ready to paint the background on my 55gal. Trying to decide on a color, black, navy blue or more of a royal blue. Any opinions?

Black brings everything forward. I'll also give you a tip on painting the back- I DON'T. I use the colored construction paper at Walmart (92 cents) that is 36" X 36" and spray it with a can of clear lacquer making it water proof and tape it up.
This way when you go to sell it, You have paper- Not Paint to remove especially with a color that a buyer may Not desire.

I used to paint but now just glue a piece of black or blue poster board back there. Have found it easier to sell if the tank is not painted.

Black paint, however a healthy tank will cover the back over in about 6 months

I painted mine blue, I think the color was rustoeum deep blue. In person it looks awesome, it sort of looks like the ocean just goes on behind your rocks. That’s if it’s kept clean anyways. But taking pictures it sucks, the blue tint of the leds and blue background make it tough got get good pics. I’m not a good photographer so I really have issues, but if you have a good camera and know how to use it it’s probably a non issue
