Banana torch never extending

Hi Guys,

My banana torch has never really looked great. Its
In the tank now for 3 months but in the beginning I thought he was stung by other torch coral, but now it’s positioned all by itself and still nothing happens.
I can see Some pest like stuff in the middle, maybe that is the reason? Any ideas?

Are those barnacles in the center? Need better photos under white light. Torches shouldn't sting each other.

I don’t know what they are, but they seem like it when i compare pictures. Could that be the reason?

Hello, my friend. Looking at this, I see classic signs of Brown jelly disease, a common euphyllia issue. What you see in the center appears to be receeded and gaping holes in the coral. This could've been caused by injury, extremely high nutrients, or introduction through other infected corals.

One of my hammers was stricken with BJD and I killed it off with an in tank cipro treatment. It looked alot like your torch.

I agree that you should make sure it isn't barnacles.

Some pictures of the underside of the coral, including the flesh band would help us determine if you have flatworms or other pests. I still see BJD here.
