Battery backup for MightyJet pump

I picked up a UPS for my 15W IM Mightyjet desktop pump (https://www.innovative-marine.com/shop/MightyJet™-326-GPH-DC-AIO-Submersible-Return-Pump-Desktop-p184805888)

I got a Cyberpower EC850LCD (https://www.cyberpowersystems.com/product/ups/ecologic/ec850lcd/). I'm trying to figure out the math to find out how many hours of runtime I would get if there is a power outage. Supposedly the battery Ah is 25800mah according to amazon answers. Can someone help please?

This is equal to 86 watt hours meaning you can run 86 watts for just under an hour. This is a very low rating. The device is meant to power lcd monitors and computer for a couple minutes to save your files and shut down

Your pump is 15 watts

The runtime formula is
(86wh x .85) / 15w = 4.8 hours
Which may be good enough for most outages. But that lead acid ups battery will degrade and each year you’ll lose about 20% and by 5 years it’s out of service

The Oupes Exodus 600 is $139 with a coupon on Amazon at the moment and is 256wh. The battery will have 90% original capacity after 10 years. It has built in ups
And runtime…
(256wh x .85) / 15 = 14.5 hours

It’s 3x the runtime for $20 more, and you will not need to replace the battery in 5 years.

There is also a 512wh version with coupon for $200. That would give you
(512wh x .85) / 15 = 29 hours runtime

Also on the website for the ups has a replacement battery listed, which confirms 7.2 ah @ 12v

You are not factoring for efficiency - the loss from converting from dc to ac + power needed to run the device itself. You lose about 15%

(86.4 x .85) / 15w = 4.89 hours

Yea that thing must be even more inefficient than predicted. It’s old tech for computers.

I had a nice $250 cyberpower ups years ago and thought I could use it for outages. After 3 years I had my first outage. It lasted 11 min lol

There what got me into a side hobby of learning about these LiFePO4 stations and new battery tech.
