So I want to do a Bayer dip on some corals (first corals ever, I'm getting some zoas). The question is, bayer had their merger. Is the bio advanced complete insect killer the exact same thing as the bayer advanced? Personal experience would be great to hear about.

Ya it's the same. There are 2 similar products I saw at the store. One is in a spray bottle and one is in a bigger twist cap bottle. You want the bigger twist cap one

Ya I use it all the time. I do a small ziploc full of tank water with 5ml Bayer for about 8 mins, rinse with clean saltwater for a second and then soak in fresh saltwater for a min. This has always worked fine for me but one of the mods here (can't remember who) told me I'm using too much Bayer and they rinse for like 10 or 15 mins. But I'm happy with my process

I'd say if your in doubt, give it another rinse/soak with clean saltwater (or water from your tank)

I used it for the first time a few weeks ago on some lps and sps. Prior to has always been Aquarium brand dips. I believe I used 1/2 cup to 1g for 15 minutes while spraying them off. Afterwards (3) 15 min rinses followed by (1) 15 min seachem reefdip and (1) more 15 min clean rinse. All has been good so far.

Beta cyfluthrin and Imidacloprid are the active ingredients in the bayer that everyone uses
Thank you very much I'll make sure that's what it uses! Very much appreciate the ingredients. Do you happen to have a picture of the back of a bottle so I might even see the rest? I know I need the concentrate, not the diluted down stuff.

Unfortunately thus far the pictures are too low resolution. That said I really appreciate the picture, if that label is the same and the active ingredients are, I feel fairly confident.

If it helps any, I’ve seen that most people use a 3-5% bayer solution dip. If you have a way to measure or weigh.

1/2 cup in a gallon is a little more than 3%.
I'm honestly going to do it in a small bowl, I've seen a couple recipes and want as little of it out of the bottle and in a bowl as possible. I'm not exactly excited to be handling it, but with gloves and goggles I'll be okay and everyone seems to love it as a dip.

I will say this DO NOT POUR YOUR MIXTURE DOWN THE DRAIN!!! get off your **** and go pour it on your lawn!! It is incredibly toxic to aquatic life (obviously) and your drain heads to the river via a sewage treatment facility that is typically not meant to deal with this stuff.

As someone who lives in Idaho and has to spray to keep the black widows in check, I am familiar with the danger to local water life and planned to do exactly as you mention (in fact I plan to deploy it right around our crawl space entrance lol). That said this is a great message and always worth hearing so thank you for it!
