I am having a hard time getting a lot of pink out of my frag. It's only 1 eye but it's a really good size.

Where are yours placed for best color? (ie lighting, flow, etc)

Let's see some pics too!!!

If you could post a pic of yours it would help.
This was mine under T-5 8 bulb light fixture at the bottom of a 75 gallon tank.

Sorry, forgot to say almost no flow. Mine was very low maintenance, but always had pink in it. This is my favorite coral, and hate that I sold it....trying to get another one now. Not sure how they look under higher lighting, but mine was pretty low lighting.

Ah, no joke, the Bazooka Joe is like my favorite WM chalice of all time!

The small frag that I had, it grew pretty well in lower light, but the color was better in higher light! Moderate flow to!

Here's my frag. Found out it actually popped another eye behind where I couldn't see. Sorry for crappy pics.

Hope it keeps growing then. It doesn't eat like my other chalices do.

The bazooka typically keeps a deep purple, blue baground behind the brigt pink pimples.
What kind of light are you using?
If metal halide what bulbs!
If t5's what kind (bulbs)?
Ya know etc.

I have a standard 120g, 2x Phoenix 14k halides/VHO actinic. It sits on my sand bed in moderate shade. Are you guys able to feed your bazooka joes? Almost all of my chalices are spot fed twice a week but there are a few that don't ever open their mouths and the BJ is one of em. I at least know it's growing somewhat because like I said above it popped out another eye in the last 1.5 months I've had it.

I have mine about 10" from a nanotuners fluval edge fixture (IIRC it's made using XR-E's without any optics). It's sitting about 7" from a small 100gph powerhead with a hydor flo attached to it. Get's a direct hit of water every 8 seconds or so. It's been growing pretty well and every night, it's feeders are out. You can actually see it in my avatar...that was awhile ago though, it's completely covering that frag plug now. I had the same problems when I first got it. It never ate, never really had much color, and didn't grow much. But you just have to get parameters right and eventually it'll begin opening up to direct feeding.

Mine ate like a monster. I thought you could always tell a bazooka joe because of the pink striations in the green rim, mine didnt have the purple undercolor. But it was in very low lighting with no flow at all. Seemed to be very happy it went from 1 eye, the size of a pencil eraser to half dollar size with multiple eyes(pic in previous post), in 6 months. I liked the coloration that came out in low light, very pink. Good luck.

Sits on the bottom under 250 Phoenix and 4 Blue+. In an acro tank so gets pretty decent flow on the bottom. Don't feed it anything. Pretty good growth for the small amount of time I've had it.....

I have a small 1 eye frag I picked up about a month ago. It seems to have good color already for its size.

Looking awesome so far, great coloration and you can see good growth on it too. Love all the pics of the bazooka joe.
By the way, the OME looks pretty cool behind it too:)

Thanks!

That is a Cornbred 3G behind it. I got it as 1 eye at the same time as the Bazooka Joe and as you can see, there are now 2 eyes!
