being quoted in a thread

Is there a way to get notification of when you are quoted in a thread? I understand that subcribed threads fall in the usercp, but sometimes I say what I want and dont check that thread later. It would be nice to know if Im quoted so I can respond/answer if need be.

no , dont think so, you would have to check the thread or subscribe to it.

what about searching by keyword using the member name? A unique name will show results....wheras a not so unique.....like dots wouldn't.

Under User CP, Edit Options, Default Subscription Mode, you can indicate how you want to be notified if there is a new post in a thread you started or a thread in which you place a post. Posting in a thread can automatically subscribe you to that thread so you get e-mail notification every time a post is made in that thread. If you no longer want to learn about posts in a given thread, you unsubscribe from that thread.
