I've never had the issue described, MacOS using Chrome. I do occasionally get a verifying you're human prompt but it always decides I am, and I get to move along.

Basically AI training bots overwhelm servers and cause slow website response and even crashing of servers. We have to implement custom written rules to try and slow them down, stop bad bots etc. without hurting real human traffic. It’s a balancing act and tricky!

Tricky isn’t how I’d describe it! Ha! It’s super frustrating on all fronts. It happens on all forums. Once you setup a roadblock, the bots figure out a way around, and round and round we go. Setup up too strong of a roadblock and the interaction between certain isp, device, browser, can get bamboozled. It’s a lose, lose sitch….I feel your pain.

@revhtree Not important as I have a workaround but thought I’d share a weird new phenomenon. I have always left the stay logged in button unchecked in the past and just log in manually. Since the changes this morning, if I take too long typing a response or post, I get auto booted mid sentence. Log back in and what I had typed auto populates and I can continue on. This never happened before. However, I found that if I select the stay logged in button when logging in, that even though it might glitch mid sentence that it automatically takes me back to where I was within a second or two. No major deal or anything, just something that is not as usual.

Trying connect from Sweden - using a VPN server in Sweden. If I change to a VPN server located in the US - it mostly better but sometimes I have to change from which town in the US I had to surface from. Chicago works mostly best.

I have not been able to access anything beyond the home landing page and topics/threads therein. If I click on any tabs, for instance “forums”, I get the cloud fare verify you’re human checkbox. When clicking the box, it goes to “verifying”, then verifying stuck, then back to the initial checkbox.

I figured I was on a time out or throttled to give me pause before hitting reply.

On a more serious note on another forum I help administer the bots are a real problem. Not the good bots but the PITA bots, scrapers, and so forth. Manual effort, portal rules, hosting site, I mean there should limits or laws in place to help everyone hosting content.

There for sure needs to be some regulation….but then no one will enforce it similar to spam calls/texts and commercials being twice as loud as the program, and on and on and on. It should just be legal to emp spam/bot centers around the globe….reverse hacking companies might be fun.

Ha! Maybe we’re going about this all wrong. Maybe if we imitate being bot traffic, they’ll let us in!
