I noticed my female bellus angel growing streamers now. Does this mean that she is transitioning into a male or she becoming a super female.

She is about 4 inches now and I added a smaller male about a month but she didn't allow him in the tank so I had to rehome.

Congratulations on a beauty there. Is there any orange showing? Might be in transition to a male and why there was an issue when you got the male. Better to put another female in there and let one of them morph.

This female went after the male nonstop. Usually I heard they were easy to pair up if one was a male and other female.

There's no hint of orange on it but I honestly think it looks better as a female with the streamers

i cant think

Do you have any other angels of that genus in the tank?
I’d be surprised if she was transitioning to male in a tank on her own.

No other angels in this one. I was thinking that she was transitioning into a male but she seems to have no signs of orange at all. Looks pretty awesome in my opinion.

Wish I had my guy showing the streamers… instead he looks as if he’s the cross way between male and female really confuses me as I was told he’s fully revert a few months back but he hasnt.

When my ‘newly’ Male Bellus was forced back to female by a larger transitioning male Lamarck… he/she never regained the original female Bellus color pattern.
But since I’m not impressed with the male Bellus coloring, I was happy with the results.

I do prefer the look of my melanospilos now as it looks like a totally separate species. Definitely not a female though, he’s more of what appears to be a submale, I find it strange as he is alone.
