Duo I have plans for an upgrade down the line. I'm not even sure if the jump is out yet.
I've seen video reviews of the jump but the skimmers could have been early gifted to YT channel owners who do a lot of popular reviews. From what I know the jump is one size smaller. What I want to know is if the jump controller has 0-10V control compatibility with other controllers like the Apex.

I'm a little nervous about this being to big of a skimmer for my current system. I guess I'll find out. I'll find something used thats smaller if its a proplem. I do have to remove my kz reactor for this to fit. I Still will dose the kz products just would have the media. I could also make a smaller reactor myself.

I did see the jump has a smaller footprint than the duo.

I'm looking into building a new sump after ı get my control panel figured out.

Got alot of things to think about.

@BeMoto I'm a little worried about my skimmer being oversized too but what could happed? The water stripped of all nutrients not just excess nutrients? Then I will feed 3x or 4x as much and if that doesn't keep the corals from starving I'll just run the skimmer periodically throughout the day and night. My Reef Octo Elite 150-S is feature rich, especially with the DC pump and Apex compatibility.

I guess it who you talk too. BRS now recommends undersized skimmer. Says its easier to tune and stay tuned.

Some people say the ocean is so large its impossible to over skim our tanks.

Some are using turf scrubbers and roller mates and say skimmers are no longer needed.

Got a few test corals a few weeks ago. I'm a bit concerned about the base on the millapora. But the acropora and bubble gum digie looks happy. I got a zoe to but I'm not able to get it to open up at all. I think there's to much flow.

My glue and epoxy work need some work, but I refuse to have any frag plugs in the tank for now. 20201231_205319.jpg

The only coralline I have is from the LR that was added to the tank. I would imagine it will take at least 5 weeks befor I see anything.

My water parameters have been steady @ the following

Temp 78
Salinity 1.026
Ph 8.0
Calcium 500
Po4 0
Mag 1500
Dkh 9.0
N02 0
NO3 0

Is that your coralline growing in ? Is anything noticeable yet ?

Made my 1st attempt at a control board. Found a few things I didn't like and want to change already. Need some more space behind the tank. I have 7-1/2" now, would like 12". Right know its almost impossible to have the power supplies behind the board currently. Had to cut out some clearance for 2 outlets behind the tank. Also finally hooked up an UPC to my main return in case of a power outage.

Added some mode lights to the sump today.

Also started to use Fritz glass cleaner and love it! Makes cleaning the glass easy. Was using tunze and wasn't happy with it. Always left a haze everywhere.

Got some new growth on the acropora! Very excited about it. Got nubs growing too. Starting to encrust at the base as well.

Not sure what this corals name is, it was purple with green polyps at the store under blue lights. It looks way different in my tank.

Lossed my jawfish and coral wrass not to long ago. Jawfish went carpet surfing after jumping out a small crack in the back of the tank where the cords come out and over the tank. Coral wrass passed away for no apparent reason.

Tank seems to be doing good though. I have a few corals taking off. Some aren't not. Not sure why to be honest. Might need to rent or buy a par metor. Heard some mix reviews from some podcast I've been listening too. If you haven't listened to Reef Beef or Reef Therapy you should.

Been really happy my maxspect skimmer

My clowns and tang have been hanging out with each othere. It's been kinda funny watching them together. The clowns seemed to be paired up together. Think there to young to actually reproduce. I give it another year. I have to double check but I think around 3 years old they can reproduce.

Added a pair of fire fish, a royal gramma, and a high fin coby 3 weeks ago. With in 36 hrs I believe all have died. I seen the royal gramma being eaten by blue legged hermits. I can't emagine the hermits got all 4 fish though. Very disappointing.

Beside that everything has been doing ok. Been dosing nitrates and phosphates trying to get a few of my remaining corals to color up.

Been using Red Sea Alkilinity test kit, it's a bit hard to read so I ended up getting a hanna checker. I was a bit turned off by the price per test but I like it to spot check my Red Sea tests.

Also purchase a kamoer dosing head. I'm setting it up this weekend, getting ready for a camping trip. Figured my alkilinity would dip way down after not dosing for a week. So I hoping to get it dialed in befor vavacation.

Also got my 3 stage resin canister installed finally. It was more work than I thought it would be. I had to take some of the canisters off the frame and move some of the rigid tubing to make everything work. But now I have an extra sediment filter and carbon block.
