Not dentists specifically, but any tank that isn't in a fish store, public aquarium, or home. That could be restaurant, chiropractor, nail salon etc.

I've seen a ton of beautiful tanks since I joined here, and joined the hobby in general, but they're all mostly personal aquariums or the display tanks at the LFS, or videos from coral farms.

Would love to see what tanks 'in the wild' look like in other places. The good ones and the bad ones.

LOL, I was an aquarium tech for a lfs and I took care of our tank accounts in the early 2000s. Dentists made up the majority of our business accounts. I figured that was because folks get nervous going to the dentist, (I know I sure did) and fish tanks are soothing. I maintained those tanks for years but it never occurred to me to even snap a single pic of any of them! (Of course this was prior to smart phones with good cameras and I had enough equipment to lug around without worrying about a camera too).

My wife thinks I’m crazy we drive past a dentist office that clearly has one that I can see through the window. It’s not to far from our house and I’m always saying I wonder what coral and fish they have in there. I tell her I’m going to make an appointment just to go in and check it out. Or just stop in and look at the tank a when the receptionist asks about an appointment I’ll go naw just here for the tank lol.

Exactly my feeling! It seems like I've seen a lot just wandering around, but I have no pictures and honestly can't even remember where I saw them all the time!

If I saw one now there'd be pictures for sure haha.

Best one I saw in a public place (hospital when I had to have surgery) was a tank of bala sharks! Ive always loved bala sharks though, very cool freshwater fish. Also had a rainbow shark! Didnt take a picture since I was on my way out and high on drugs post surgery but I asked the lady pushing my chair to stop so I could see them lol

This was at a exotic animal / reptile vet in the lobby and one of the exam rooms

I took a pic of a small led display/info packet because leds are relatively new tech for the reptile world. Reptile lighting is only just beginning to take advances towards uva/b led diodes to replace t8 and the other current forms of lighting for reptiles.

The fish tank was incredibly clean and everybody got along nicely. The snake and lizard enclosures seemed a bit dated but the animals were all very healthy looking.

It made me feel comfortable going there because I could see they knew how to take care of animals and proudly had them out in the open.

The turtle was quite large and the fish in with him gobbled at the water surface paying attention to me and trying to guilt me into a feeding. I didn’t have food and I know fish tricks!

I'm a pain management doctor and this is the tank I have in my waiting room. Just purchased an IM 200 INT that I'll be upgrading to soon

Cool tank! I worked as a nurse in the OR at a pain management clinic. Was a great time! LESIs and RF ablations all day every day

I knew I took these pictures for a reason. How about an entry into a 'bad' tank in the wild. I guess it could be worse!

I actually asked and was told that the technician/cleaner that takes care of this tank had been by that week, and comes once a month. There were two living fish and a wild assortment of snails and hermits and it was not a small tank. Detritus everywhere. It looked caked in silt and shells. The CUC is doing most of the work in this tank and they should really hire someone better IMO.

I honestly wanted to get in there and do something, but... I mean it was a Dr's office, so.

Sorry for the glare, so many windows behind me.

It really has the bones to be a lovely tank. You can see the coralline algae on the rocks, it just needs some serious TLC and more than once a month attention.

There's actually something really cool about that look. I only wish it was intentional and not accidental. The inverts seem to be thriving though!

Yeah, the tank is certainly alive and the hermits were pretty neat to watch, but there's... it just kind of felt dead. I'm not sure the pictures really do it justice. If there's low stock though, suppose they don't have nutrient problems even with a once a month tending.
