I have a Clarisea gen 2 which I regret buying but it seems they fixed all the issues I've encountered with the gen 3, from what I've seen I think the RedSea is one of if not the best reef filter roller. but that's just my opinion.

I have a bubble magus fleece roller on my tank since November last year and it has made my life a heck of a lot easier from the socks I used, I have a mk1 version and I staple the new roll to the old one, take the motor off wind through, then attach new spool to collect used roll and stick with the self adhesive to the spool, reconnect the motor and I am good for another 2 months + and I feed four cubes per day, have 12 fish, with the yellow tangs being the largest.

Thieling contact rollermat here. Had it 2 years. Works very well. Needs to be level to spool perfectly.
Looking forward to eventually buying the red sea. I think app control would be a game changer

I have an Aquamaxx that I purchased several years ago, when Marine Depot was around, before BRS bought them out. BRS still carries them. They are reasonably priced and the rolls are much less expensive than other brands. You couldn’t pry this this out of my hands or tank. I love this thing.

Another point for the reefmat, I’ve had the 1200 and it’s working perfectly. Some say the app is useless but it’s useful to be able to see exactly how much of the roll you have used and how much is remaining. The app will also alert you when you need to change the roll, if there are any jams or issues, and even has “quick action” buttons for feed mode, maintenance, and emergencies. Overall the best thing I’ve ever bought for my tank.

Clarisea is trash, I’ve had a couple and the janky build quality is horrible. The motors tend to burn out/the screw (crucible?) bends and makes them jam and changing the rolls is a pain. They got a large part of the market when they were relatively alone in making rollers.

I’m currently running an Arka core which has the same small footprint but is better in every way.
In terms of quality the best ones I’ve messed around with are the Deltec or royal exclusive.

I recently, like 2 weeks ago installed and ReefSmat 500 on my Waterbox 180.5. Best decision ever! The unit pulls a lot of waste.
It works flawlessly ! Highly recommended

I’m relatively new (3 months now) to using these (Aquamaxx for my Red Sea reefer 170) and haven’t noticed any change in water clarity or glass. I do see the mat getting dirty and rolling up, so I know it’s doing something.

I have been using the Aquamaxx AF1 for over 2 years now and no problem does a very good job pulling out gunk. I love it so much I added it to my Redsea 250 reefer Seahorse tank and to my 50 gallon Euphila tank.
I get 3 months out of a roll on the smaller tanks and about 5 to 6 weeks on the SPS tank but that tank is VERY high load 24 fish feeds about 8 to 10 cubes a day. I will never have a tank with out a good roller ever again.
