Best Soft Corals for Biginners

Hey - so I new to marine and have so many questions...

I've read a bit on the different coral types however from a another reefer what's the 'best' soft coral to start with? when I say best I mean easiest to keep, best effect in an aquarium etc

Any particular types to look out for or avoid?

Any comments are welcome?

Zoanthids, Leathers, Mushrooms, GSP (needs to be kept on its own isolated rock).
Those are starters. Keep in mind when doing Zoas or Paly's to watch out for palytoxins.
That should be a fair starting point.

Gsp and xenia but put them on a rock surrounded by sand so they dont spread...

'Corky finger' briarium.

It grows upright in a stalk towards the light, instead of oozing all over the rocks.
Slow grower, but not too slow. Kind of impossible to kill. And polyps always extended, unless you run your hand over them.

More of a purple brown and not very colorful. Dark under actinic lighting.
But they have a special place in my heart. Lol.

Super easy without puking all over your tank in 2 years time.

Place the stalk at a 45ﾟ angle and latent buds will pop up and grow new stalks along the length, about every inch of stalk.
An easy "no regrets" coral.

Corky finger, going on three years old and pruned back several times to make more pieces. Started with two sticks that were two inch long.

Neon green Kenya tree.
Looks interesting under white lights and actinic lights. Slightly slower grower.

Lol, not regular Kenya tree. That one grows too fast and is mostly tannish colored and does not show up under actinic lights. As it matures it also drops frags everywhere.
