I'll keep it brief, I have a Waterbox 230.6. I'm not at all impressed with the filter sock chamber. The socks don't seal to the acrylic holder so only half the water is truly getting filterd. Not only that but I'm sick of changing socks every 3-6 days and sick of going to the laundromat every month (wife forbade me to wash socks in our washer at home
).
I want a Fleece roller.
Anyone who is familiar with waterbox sumps will know what I mean but the water drains into a skinny chamber on the back then goes to the sock chamber. I do not want to give up that chamber as my heater, UV and doser lines are in there.
With a Redsea Mat 1200 I would lose that chamber as the Reefmats get plumed directly from the drain. I could however take a pump off the shelf and add it into the return pump chamber and hard pipe it to circulate water back into that rear chamber. The only thing I don't like about that is that's another link in the chain that could fail. Additionally I would have to take some time getting a balance of flow rate. I would assume the Reefmat is a superior roller compared to the Klir Di-7 but I'm un-sure
The Klir has its benefits as #1 it drops right into my sock chamber with no plumbing needed. Also I have a large Hydros collective that I know the Klir would integrate into well. Not sure what the comparison of effectiveness between the two rollers is. Can anyone offer any insight on these two?
