I've been working on this concept since getting into the hobby in 2016 and began to build a working prototype in 2021.

The mission:

It must be smart.

To reduce or eliminate the frustrations that come with working on the aquarium's equipment within the cabinet.

It must make the best use of the available space and be highly organized.

It must automate as many of the daily processes as possible and be reliable in doing so.

It must be durable, strong, built with quality materials and be unlike existing higher end systems.

The footprint for this peninsula tank build is going to be roughly 7' by 2' and will be the base of our 90 gallon frag tank. Its design will become apparent that it can be used for much more. The electronics are in their own spaces, the sump will be displayed as a center piece in an open space kind of way, the design is computer aided and nearly every component is being cut by our CNC router.

Early mock ups come first:

Gives off server room vibes. I dig it :)

Ive got a background in computers and gaming systems so this tracks.

The power control center was designed for a rack mount. I like the functionality of it but didn't like its appearance so I built a hardwood cover for it.

Acrylic shelves include built-in tubing retainers for the silicone dosing lines. Keeps everything tidy.

As this is a pair of slideout service cabinets, the tubing needs to take a safe path around a partition.
