I just picked up my new biocube 32 with stand for $250, i couldn't pass that deal up. It also came with a few random things too. Later down the road i do want to turn it into a reef aquarium. From my understanding, I heard the stock LEDS work decently well to grow coral and support anemones, but if you have the money, than go for the steves led upgrade. Is there any LED thats priced cheaper that will fit in our hood? Or is it pretty much steve LED or DIY to support better growth? Thank you

The hydra 26 fits. I like the interface the best over all other leds. I just gotta figure out how to mount it inside the hood. ‍♂️

Steve's for sure!

Everywhere i look that's all i hear people talking about. They are just so expensive. I'm sure some point down the road when the 32 is established, i mind as well upgrade before i start adding corals. The only thing that is throwing me off is that i hear they are almost to strong for certain corals, which makes me believe the stock lighting will be fine.

They can be programmed however you want. A worthwhile investment. My son modded his to a Steve's.

So I just do mushrooms in my 32 and I don’t need more light really but I do want more blue so I ordered a true lumen 12inch blue atinic pro strip and a dimmer so I can control the intensity. I should have it installed some time this week . It only cost me 65 dollars for the strip power supply and dimmer .... I’ll try to post a thread when it’s done .

Following to see what you did. I have a 16 that I am setting up now and would like to upgrade the lights however am having the same dilemma as you are. Wonder if there's a way to upgrade just the LED's and drivers in the hood?
