I got a small Biota Yellow Tang almost a month ago and I could not be happier. It and my fox face are best buds. Its coloration has gone from a pale almost see-through yellow to a quite hearty yellow. It eats well and loves the tank. Heartily recommend!

I"ve got three of them I've had for several years. They were about the size of a quarter when I got them now here's what they look like now.

Have they all had HLLE in the past? They look scarred if not, then they currently have it so you’ll want to keep an eye out on them :)

The only downside I have found to these tangs is that they seem de-morphed even outside of the pale yellow of the young specimens, I’m unsure if this is true now (I’ve not seen a CB specimen for a while) but also they all seem to have had HLLE at some point in their life.

They have always had the lighter coloration that looks like slight HLLE but it's never progressed.
I haven't added a fish to this 500 gallon tank in years and everyone eats like pigs.

I'm on my 2nd Biota yellow tang and also have a Biota Coral Beauty. All have some form of HLLE. I've posted a link to a video from Biota(from years ago) where Jake from Biota states that it's from the fry(blue tangs) NOT getting any natural sunlight.

We found this to be the case with the blues but have refined our methods with the yellow tang over the past few years to make them a bit hardier against HLLE. We're always constantly improving and learning new things.

I have a Biota Yellow tang and he has been great. He is best friends with my Blue Throat trigger. They both love Nori and no signs of HLLE. He is probably just over 2 years old. I bought him from Marine Collectors. I am expecting a shipment from Biota tomorrow on 2 Watchmen Gobies, 1 Royal Gamma, and Coral Beauty. My estimated 8 yr Coral Beauty and 12 year old Watchmen Goby ( My first fist in the hobby in 2011) passed in the last 6 months.

Sadly, I lost my beautiful YT a couple of months ago. He was the jewel of my tank. Work has been a major issue for me for a while now and I have not been able to maintain the tanks the way I need so I have actually suffered severe losses across the board.
