Ok I was given a very small frag of superman monti because the persons tank crashed. the frag is VERY white and Very small. Since putting it in my tank the little polyps on it have turned Orange. It has been in my tank all of like 3 days now and I can tell it has grown (was the size of the part of your fingernail you cut off and I would say its 1.5x that now). how long might it be before the stony part of the coral might turn blue? right now its an orangish white color. I also got a rainbow monti from him that is still brown but seems to be doing some "coloring" but very slowly compared to the superman. I will get pics later when I can find my camera. I always seem to lose it for a couple hours till I find it again. Only seem to lose it when I need it lol.

The color change will be dependent on a few factors, like light and flow etc... plus where your water params are. If you are experiencing growth then that is good and it should turn around in a few weeks or days if you are so lucky. From the sound of it everything should come around quickly enough.

On my aqua/maricultured SM's, the new growth usually has the nicer color (compared to the original piece). Once the aquacultured pieces start to encrust surrounding rocks, they take off, spillign color everywhere (wish the lineaged piece would grow that fast-it's much nicer in color:)). I moved some that weren't bleached, but weren't very colorful back into my main display and within the last two weeks, they've started to color up. In my tanks,(all other things being in range) my alk is the biggest deciding factor on color. If my alk runs low, I get no color...

I should say I have these under 250w HQI 14000k phoenix bulb with 2 t5 pro blue actinics. They are all about 3 weeks old now. I started them on the bottom and moved the superman to mid tank now as well as the acropora that has a greenish/purplish color starting to show up. The superman has a very slight almost unnoticable blue tint to part of it which I believe is the color its supposed to be? I dont know much about this coral and I feel stupid cause I cant find any information like how high I should eventually have it and how much water flow etc etc. Right now I have it in a high water flow area and it seems to like it since the polyps are out.
