Hey guys, creating a stock list for my next tank and trying to figure out which way to go. I would love a cube tank, but I definitely want a blue throat trigger. Would a cube be alright for one? Or would I have to stick to a basic rectangle tank? Would a 36” wide tank be to small?
Thanks!

I had that exact scenario and don’t recommend it. They are big time swimmers and seem cramped in a 36” cube. Mine was about 2.5-3” long and could have used a few more feet of tank space.

Unfortunately, yeah, I wouldn’t put a trigger in a tank that size. I have a 4ft 120g I’m setting up and I don’t think I’d even put a blue throat in it. Filefish are related to triggers, and swim the same way. Maybe a good alternative?

Borderline call, definitely not less than 36" and 120g or so. They aren't tremendous horizontal swimmers and do keep to a small territory in relationship to their size. But may limit what else you decide to stock.
