BM-T01 Dosing Pump Help

I am use to manual dosing,but after many mistakes with that I bought a BM-T01 3 Part Doser. I was wondering if anyone had any issues I might run into while setting this up,that I should look out for or be aware of. Trouble shooting I guess I should say. Also what would be the best time/ml dosage per day for dosing on a 40gal tank?

I am going to be dosing Mag, Cal, and Alk. All BRS products.

Great piece of equipment and smart move to go the route of dosing pumps. Set it and forget it. I love mine. Now to answer your questions. It's gonna depend on your coral stocking. If you have high sps/clams and other hard corals and inverts, then you need to dose more obviously than someone that has more of a softie tank. best way is to measure/test how much ca, alk your tank is using up on a daily basis and dose according to that.

I have everything in this tank from zoas to acroporas. But it is atleast 70% stony coral dominated.

Also should I just use 3 1 gallon jugs to hook the intake tube up to? and do I go ahead and mix the whole 1gal container of dosing chemical/mineral per pump?

yea man, i make a gal at a time, wouldnt hurt to shake it around every now and again, another note is you may need to calibrate/test that the amount you set is the amount your getting. They are more accurate in the higher mL range. and also dont forget to use the manual dosing button to bring the solution to the end of the hose so its ready for action and doesnt take 3 days to reach your tank

Should I just use the dosing calculator on BRS to help with my ML dosage,since im using BRS products?

I know this is probably a stupid question, but when mixing the 2 mixes, Do I use 1 gal of saltwater or 1 gal of freshwater? I know most mixes say use fresh but I did not know if this was differant.

In the instructions, there is a manual mode that will let you advance the solution to the sump.

I use this unit and really like it.

To regulate how much, test your paramaters--
bring them all up to the desired levels by adding the amounts shown on the calculator,
then begin using the doser.
I have mine go about an hour after lights out.


If you are using BRS products-- use RO/DI water.
Their videos help if you have any cloudiness.

I would assume that you would just dose Mag and Ca and wait for the Alk to come down on its own.

I tested again tonight and alk is back where it should be, ,9.8, So I will try to get this set up this weekend..

I use this doser on my tank that is SPS dominated and here is how I set it up....

1) Figure out the amount of each element that is being used each day (ie. 20cc)
2) Set the doser to dose this amount (20cc) throughout the day in several small doses (this helps maintain a constant level)
- I spread my total dosage into 12 small doses per day so that it was not spiking the levels all at once
3) Get an ice cold beer and relax watching your corals grow!
