Bounce Chalice!!!

Joking with the title there but a friend has this chalice he got from @FraghouseCorals recently. It has a large bubble on it like a bounce mushroom. I've seen LPS grow bubbles when they split but this bubble was cut off by Brandon at Frag House and it grew back. The owner of the coral posted that his clowns were drawn to it also.

Whats the deal with bubbles. Have they been forming on soft corals forever or is this a new thing?

I have a frogspawn with a HUGE bubble. I joke with the guy at the LFS about it. He had a hammer with a big bubble. It seems that is something that happens sometimes when they are splitting into another head. My frogspawn still has the bubble 4 months later now.

Agreed it's a by product of growth. Stretching the flesh out during growth can leave a pocket that gets filled, odd part here is that he cut it off before and the bubble reformed. New trend will now be "bounce chalice" > Rainbow chalice > regular (not as much color) chalice!

I've never came across any like that but it's a nice piece.

I have a rainbow chalice that has a big bubble on it too. Also another coral but not sure what it is.
