I would combine the first two doses into a single dose :)

Has there been any experience with "over dosing" ie what if a person did 3 oz per 20 gallons vs the new recommended dose of 2 oz per 20?

Or maybe not that extreme of 3oz per 20 but "more" than the new 2oz/20 gallons

Glad to see the continued overall positive results

Haha maybe I type to slow

So you're recommending 3oz per 20 initially??

Going forward with the rest of the dosing, again, what if a person over dosed??

First week dose is 1 oz per 10 gallons or 2 oz per 20 gallons if the first weeks doses are combined.

Starting the second week, all doses are 1 oz per 20 gallons :)

Thanks.

What's your folks longest follow up with a treated tank(s) to see if the product was absolutely successful. 2,4,6 months longer???

Granted that would mean no new additions were added to be certain nothing new (AEFW) was introduced.

No need to stop carbon dosing. Remove activated carbon.

If you have a in sump skimmer, leave it running but remove the collection cup for a minimum of 48 hrs after each dose.

If it’s a external skimmer, shut off for a minimum of 48 hrs after each dose :)

Why is the difference between in sump and external skimmers? Thanks

We have been trying to kill men's with Purge and have treated at 2.5 times the recommended dose with out any major issues. We have lost a couple acro frags along the treatment which is on 6 or 7 weeks now. I do not attribute the few deaths on the Purge. The system has to run completely different from normal so I am sure those changes have done more damage than the treatment.
Removed socks and carbon and skimmer for over 50% of the treatment. I haven't tested no3 or po4 but I bet it has gone through the roof compared to normal.
I did cut way back on feeding through the process.

Cause if you remove the cup on your external skimmer it will overflow on your floor. The internal skimmer will continue to aerate the water and overflow into the sump

You can put the drain tube from the cup into the sump, the water will drain back into the system. All external skimmers have drain tubes.
By turning the external skimmer off, you decrease oxygen level in the tank.

I've put the skimmer cup back after 48 hours but it's overfilled after 5 seconds , do I need to wait longer ? And is its normal ?

Not sure if it is related but all the Blue Eye and Bangaii Cardinals have passed in our treated system. 5 fish total. I lost a Purple tang during the first week of treatment but did not relate it to the treatment either.
Has anyone lost any fish unexpectedly?
I have not added any fish in well over 6 months.

I lost a fat and happy Tinkeri that I had in the system for over a year and a flame angel that I had for a couple of months.

Sorry to hear that Ace but I guess if you have AEFW losing a couple fish is better than all of your acros.
