What is the best fish to breed. Tank size and info on best breeding? I was thinking about possibly helping my LFS and breeding fish for them. Any suggestions on where to start?

Cardinalfish are super easy cause the dad carries them in his mouth for a month and releases miniature copies of them.

I’ve seen cardinal everywhere. Any thing else?

Have you asked your LFS what they need the most of? I would start there, and do as much research as possible. Breeding saltwater fish ofter times means culturing your own cope pods, phytoplankton, BBS, rotifers, etc.

Seen occasionally in the hobby but are livebearing. Very timid, may never see them. Personally i have no idea to tell the difference between male and female. Because you will need one of each.

Clowns and cardinals are the best fish to cut your teeth on marine breeding, after that dottybacks. Most marine fish have pelagic larvae which require specialized foods. Getting into marine breeding is really getting into first feeds culturing. Mastering culturing phytoplankton, copepods and rotifers, is essential.
