My video may have not attached correctly , I can see these white dots on my back black glass crawling around . My brain says pods .. but may have ptsd from the parasites . Have any insight ?I don't think you need to dose the fallow tank with rally pro, but it wouldn't hurt.
If you see something crawling around in your tank, 99% of the time it is NOT a parasite. The only exception I know of is a predatory isopod that comes in on live rock from the Gulf of Mexico. My video may have not attached correctly , I can see these white dots on my back black glass crawling around . I have ran into an issue , my trust LFS have had my survivors while I fallow for the 6 weeks . AllIf you see something crawling around in your tank, 99% of the time it is NOT a parasite. The only exception I know of is a predatory isopod that comes in on live rock from the Gulf of Mexico.
Also , I am reading if it was velvet , being fishless it can only survive for 12 days or so with uv .
What’s the truth to that ??
The fish were out of the tank since December 24 . And without inverts since Jan 11 . I completed a full 60 days without either in the tank and over 81 days without fish .
I added the fish back into the display tank 6 days ago
The whole crew of
Yellow tang x2
Naso tang
2x piccaso clowns
And my YWG look great ! Not a mark on them and happy
My hippo tang close to over night had multiple black spots on him almost like black divits .
Yesterday night he had slight popeye and even a black tuft looking thing on him . Yet he is eating like a pig with the others . (Pics are in his favorite sleeping wedge ) what do I do here ?
There was 0 interaction/cross contamination between the qt and display . I didn’t add anything new and temp was 77-78 with uv running 24/7 .
The other fish being flawless makes me believe he himself has something bacterial going on .
What is the best plan of action here ?
In qt they did a full 30 days of coppersafe at 2.5 checked with my Hanna copper checker and showed no signs of sickness since .
On hand I have , prazi , rally pro , metro , focus and kana .
Let’s get this hippo looking good guys I am lost here

Would HLLE cause that black tuft on his head ? I do see he has HLLE , but seeing he had slight popeye aswell . It threw me off . Him and all the others were rally pro bath for 90 min . Copper for 30 days then prazi . Then fresh tank for the remaining fallow . No signs atleast like this until now .One huge issue with "fallow periods" is when the first fish added back in were not quarantined properly and can then bring their own disease issues into the tank. If you ran a full quarantine on the new fish, then that is of course less likely.
However, the marks on the hepatus tang looks more like head and lateral line erosion (HLLE) and that is not something that fallow periods or quarantine can stop. Here is some background information about that:

Head and Lateral Line Erosion (HLLE)
This article discusses studies performed regarding head and lateral line erosion in captive fishes. Specifically, carbon use and nutrition as they relate to this syndrome.www.reef2reef.com

I’ll get those when I am home later today , I did see him today and that black tuft is just a white circle . No fish in the tank are showing any Symptoms still except him . There are a few white circles on the right side of his body aswell . Not ichCan you post pics under whiter light, as well as a video?
I may not see your post until morning, but I’ll take a look then……
Those mixed white spots are most likely benign mucus plugs, but they could be mixed with ich spots, no way to tell that really. The larger darker spot does look like HlLE.![]()
I was able to secure these pics under the white lights , he ate like a champ as always when I was taking these![]()
I am thinking the same thing , mucus plugs from going into the display after 80+ days . And that tuft does look to be HLLE . I will maintain water quality and continue feeding with garlic , vitachem , nori sheets and a mixture of pellets and frozen . Thanks jayThose mixed white spots are most likely benign mucus plugs, but they could be mixed with ich spots, no way to tell that really. The larger darker spot does look like HlLE.
Jay , take a look at this please . While the hippo is getting progressively clearer and does look better . Now the Naso looks coated in dust . Could this be something bacterial ? And how do I go about treatment ? Shall I rally pro the display tank ? I can not find similar onlineThose mixed white spots are most likely benign mucus plugs, but they could be mixed with ich spots, no way to tell that really. Pics aren’t really clear, but that looks like ich. With the hepatus tang showing mucus plugs (as I mentioned, those can be mixed with ich) I think this is just more evidence that there is ich in the tank.Jay , take a look at this please . However, clearer pics and good video can help confirm the diagnosis.
Is the naso breathing fast? Has it gone off feed?
