Hi
I am complete beginner to the hobby . Just started my cycle 5 days ago with shrimp.
My setup is as fallow :
40kg of cured pukani rock
50kg of Caribsea Arag-Alive fiji Pink

I have been doing Ammonia, phosphate , nitrite and nitrate test everyday from the day 2 when i started doing the test the result are as fallow without change.
My ammonia is at 0.5
Phosphate 0.3
Nitrite at 0.25
Nitrate at 25
On my 3th day I started to notice a brown algae growing on my rock. Is this normal I have tried to search for any answer and i think it could be diatoms but isn't it too soon for it ?

Welcome to Reef 2 Reef!!

The PRO mix has high cal, alk and mag.

It is made for the Red Sea / fast SPS growth program.

Red Sea makes great salts they are very consistent from batch to batch.

I'd stay with Red Sea, but switch to the regular "Blue Bucket" mix.
