I have lost 2 torches 2 hammer and now just frog Spohn is starting to die I’ve been trying to figure out what it is for the past few weeks my dozer did stop working so maybe it was my alkalinity .

Is this brown jelly disease ? The brown stuff/purple I think is cayno algae because it was around this frag for a while .

Also there is tissue coming apart around the base it’s a light tan color. Don’t know if that’s brown jelly disease or just the tissue dying .

It is been quite frustrating

This infection that’s what it is.. its spreading...

My octo has the same stuff growing on it. Also dieing. Now my healthy torch has the same weird stuff around the head.

I smelt this one and it was horrific. It’s an infection.. all acans are dead.

I got revive by 2 little fishes. Is that better then peroxide?! Or should I do a peroxide dip??

Pleas help. @Crabs Mcjones

I've never personally fought brown jelly disease before :(. But I know a man who has. @Shep may be able to help out. But from my understanding, if you have the ability to setup a quarantine tank with fresh saltwater in it, take the coral out, try not to knock off any of the brown jelly into the tank and scrub off what you can manually, dip it in an iodine type solution, and put it in the fresh quarantine tank. I'll tag #reefsquad to, someone may have a better idea of how to combat this and save your corals :)

Thanks. I don’t know if it’s brown jelly for
Sure. It’s a white ring that starts around the base of the head . When I take out the frog spawn or octo spawn and use a tooth brush all the white with a little brown peels right off and I see the sceloton and the flesh. The stuff smells really bad also. It’s some kind of infection I just don’t know what.

I have lost 2 hammers , 1 torch and a few acans and a few fluva. All in the past 3 weeks.

What do I dip these corals in? I read revive so I went out and got some but I can’t find places really saying that’s for infections. Do I do a peroxide dip? Or Logins iodine dip?

Now my 5 head torch has these white ring of deth around one of the head and now is receding. It’s only spreading.

It could be brown jelly or white band.

I saved a wall hammer one time by doing a RO/DI water, 5 min dip.
Got lucky

Just tossing it out there...

Looks like you found your problem. I'd dip all your euphyllia. I've personally never dealt with them so I'd rather someone with more experience to chime in to give you proper advice on eradication

@HolisticBear

Are you in the house?

Like DSC said, I defer to people that have treated this before. I've been blessed not to deal with this. I would research melafix. Bayer is awesome, but melafix seems to treat worms and some infections. I have both as dips, as well as H202 for pest algae.

Melafix in the tank or just for dip?

Anyone know what flat worms these are? Is this the reason for my corals getting that ring and or infection?

I used KZ Flatworm Stop. A yellow coris wrasse is the real hero for flatworms, the KZ Flatworm Stop likely increases the slime coat for corals and makes it easier for your wrasse to pick them off. I don't think KZ on it's on will do that much, but it likely won't hurt, it gives whatever wrasse you have an advantage.

@Neo Jeo I was thinking of Melafix as a dip. There are treatments like UWC new AEFW treatment that are designed for in-tank treatment. I don't think UWC's Purge does anything on other flatworms, just mentioning because it's a rare "whole tank dip"
