bubble like substance on gsp

Can anyone tell me what this silicone looking substance is on my gsp? When the lights come on and the polyps come out you can’t see it but as you can see it’s noticeable during the day and getting bigger.

I did a search and some say it’s beneficial while others say you don’t know if it is or isn’t. What’s the best way to remove it?

Small syringe with peroxide injected into the sponge should take care of it. Peroxide will not hurt the gsp, but it may get annoyed and close up for a bit.
